Sort out your storage requirements Please note if you can't fit your belongings in your new fitted bedroom - you have wasted your money! Working out what you need to store first, is critical to the success of your new bedroom design - fitted bedroom furniture provides better storage solutions than ordinary wardrobes, this guide will show you how to store your stuff well! Some common myth's 1. Woman have more clothes than men ... Not generally so! - What women have is more clothes that "hang up" than men - therefore it does not necessarily mean that women need more wardrobes than men, but generally more hanging space than men. 2. You can't have enough drawers ... Oh yes you can! - If your plan includes more than two sets of drawers you have probably wasted valuable wardrobe space ... you only need drawers for underwear. 3. I need twice as many wardrobes ... Probably not! - the whole concept of fitted wardrobes is based around a different way of storing your clothes, it's not how many wardrobes - but how you arrange the interiors that matters. 4. Fitted Bedrooms must be expensive ... No, not really! - properly designed around your specific storage requirements you will be pleasantly surprised just what value for money they represent. Divide up your stuff Now lets get on with sorting out what you have now ... divide up your items into the categories shown below: q Clothes that require a "long" (greater than 1000mmm drop) hanging space ... coats, dresses, long skirts, etc. q Clothes that require a "short" (less than 1000mm drop) hanging space ... jackets, trousers, shirts, blouses, skirts, etc. q Clothes that are better stored "folded" ... jumpers, sweatshirts, etc. q Clothes that are best stored in "drawers" ... underwear, socks, tights, handkerchiefs, etc. q Miscellaneous Items to store on "racks" ... belts, ties, shoes, etc. q Non clothes items to sit on "shelves" ... hats, books, photo albums, family papers, etc. Measure the lengths of rails required for each option and note these details down somewhere - as they will provide the foundation of your design.
